Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, a craft masterclass, supported by TCL mobile
Channel 4 produced more coverage than ever before at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, with 300+ hours of linear television and 1,000 hours of streaming content, and it was viewed by over 20 million viewers - a third of the UK population. It featured the largest number of disabled presenters ever seen on our screens. This session will showcase the production craft and talent who delivered this global sporting broadcast on such an ambitious scale, with its multi-location studio format and on the ground coverage in Tokyo. The panel will discuss the channel’s core strategy of ‘athletes front and centre’, the technical and creative challenges of capturing the atmosphere of the Games for the audience and working around restrictions. It will also delve into Channel 4’s ongoing commitment to under-represented voices and the legacy of Tokyo.

Peter Andrews, Head of Sport, Channel 4

Sophie Morgan, disability advocate and TV presenter

Hosted by Steve Brown, Paralympian, broadcaster, mentor and coach
